Neurodivergent clients can often find accessing therapy very difficult, with many struggling to relate to traditional interventions and feeling misunderstood by their therapist. Traditional therapeutic interventions don’t always recognise a neurodivergent way of communicating, nor do they consider their sensory or processing needs.
This introductory course helps counsellors and psychotherapists develop a more informed, affirming and flexible approach to working with neurodivergent clients.

- Current diagnosis process + the impact of diagnosis stage in therapy.
- The impact of masking + how to help clients unmask.
- Discussing accessibility needs for attending and participating in therapy.
- Challenging assumptions and stereotypes.
- Practical tips and interventions for Neurodivergent clients.
